Cinnaminson board approves routine business, personnel, curriculum and contracts; enters executive session

The Cinnaminson Township School District Board of Education on Feb. 17 approved a series of routine and governance items, ratified personnel and special-education contracts, approved curriculum and calendar changes, and authorized several finance actions before moving into executive session.

Routine business (Section 4) was presented and approved by voice/roll call; the minutes, treasurer and secretary reports, certified bill list (as of 02/17/2026) and related routine documents were accepted (motion approved; recorded Aye responses: 8).

The superintendent’s routine matters (Section 5) were approved following presentation of enrollment and monthly reports (motion approved; recorded Aye responses: 21). The board also approved personnel items including certificated and noncertificated appointments, resignations, retirements (including bus driver Barbara Anderson and special-education teacher Tamara Beatty), leaves, substitutes and volunteers (Section 11; motion approved; recorded Aye responses: 8).

Under curriculum and instruction (Section 12) the board approved monthly professional-development and field-trip requests, the HIB report and a calendar change to make May 13 a student day to recover a January snow day (motion approved; recorded Aye responses: 10).

The special-education report (Section 13) included ratification of a contract with Burlington County Educational Services Unit for two 1:1 teacher assistants, three out-of-district tuition placements (Burlington County Special Services School District; Lark Norcross School; Yale School Inc.), and a consultant agreement with Brett DeNovi and Associates, LLC (motion approved; recorded Aye responses: 7).

Business and finance approvals (Section 15) included acceptance of donations (e.g., $500 from Community Foundation of New Jersey), approval of staff mileage reimbursements, a 2526 IDEA amendment, a semi-corrective action plan, solicitation/rejection actions related to custodial services, and approval of a professional-services contract for special counsel with Bush Law Group (motion approved; recorded Aye responses: 11).

Procedure and policy items were also approved: the policy committee reported on reviews tied to the Freedom to Read Act and a referenced Supreme Court case ('Mahmoud versus Taylor'), and the board approved policy items on second reading where indicated (Section 14; motion approved; recorded Aye responses: 12).

After completing agenda items the board moved into executive session and later reconvened to approve one other business item and adjourn (executive session vote recorded Aye: 1; reconvene Aye: 1; other business Aye: 1; adjourn Aye: 1).
