Cuyahoga County Council votes to enter executive session to discuss collective bargaining

The Cuyahoga County Committee of the Whole voted to enter an executive session to discuss collective bargaining at its April 22 meeting.
Councilwoman Conwell moved the motion and Councilman Kelly seconded it. The clerk conducted a roll-call vote required for an executive-session motion under Ohio law. Council members Jones, Turner, Hauser, Simon, Kelly, Gallagher, Schlepper, Conwell and Council President Miller recorded "yes" votes; Council members Sweeney and Castleberry were recorded as absent. The clerk announced that the motion carried and the committee adjourned to executive session.
Council President Miller read the statutory basis for executive session under Ohio open meetings law and stated that no final decisions may be made in executive session. After the executive session concluded, the committee reconvened, heard no miscellaneous business and adjourned with the regular council meeting scheduled to convene at 5:00 p.m.
