"They actually had excess federal funding," English said, and the city requested the extended limits. English added the change would not require additional county money and that staff were finalizing the written language so the limits and funding line up before selling the project.
The committee discussed wording in the draft preamble and substitute language that includes the new termini. Mister Miller moved to accept the substitute language updating the project endpoints; the motion was seconded and approved on a voice vote. Miller then moved that Resolution 20250188 be referred favorably for a second reading; the committee seconded and approved that referral on a voice vote. The committee’s record shows voice votes but does not include a numeric roll-call tally on the record.
Why it matters: changing the project termini allows the county and the city of Berea to stretch the resurfacing work slightly to the benefit of the local roadway network while using available federal funds. Committee members asked staff to ensure the written resolution reflects the new termini before the next reading.
The committee took no public comment on the item; no members of the public had signed in. The resolution will return for a second reading and further action by the board.
