Commission approves budget amendments, adopts proclamation and names search committee for county attorney
Summary

At the Feb. 17 meeting the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners adopted several administrative and fiscal items reported by the budget committee and chair.
Budget and finance: The budget committee presented general fund, general purpose school fund and centralized cafeteria fund amendments. Commissioners moved and unanimously approved the amendments and recommended the enclosed financial reports. The board also approved the sale of surplus fire/EMA property at public auction as presented.
Proclamation: The commission adopted a proclamation honoring the late Randy Dwight Bradford for his military service, county service as District 4 commissioner and community involvement. The proclamation was read and approved unanimously.
County attorney search committee: The chair announced county attorney Ed Sims tendered his retirement effective May 31. Commissioners agreed to form a nominating/search committee to begin the process of identifying a successor; commissioners Frasran, Cresson, Nicks and Young volunteered and Commissioner Nicks was asked to serve as chair of that committee.
Other business: The board appointed Justin Hill to the ad hoc opioid fund committee to replace Kevin Strickland, approved a list of notary publics, received a Chamber of Commerce report on upcoming events and discussed potential purchase of former US Bank office space with no action taken.
The meeting adjourned after a brief new-business item and condolences offered by a commissioner.
