Mona certifies primary results; two mayoral and four council candidates advance

Mona — The Mona City Council on Aug. 26 accepted and certified the primary election canvass for the 2025 municipal primary.
Alicia, reading the canvass report, said Mona has 1,150 registered voters and that 578 ballots were cast in the primary, which she calculated as roughly 50.26% turnout. Vote totals read aloud showed Troy Painter leading the mayoral field with 262 votes and Randy Christiansen receiving 133; those two will advance to the general election. Other mayoral tallies included Joshua Bridal Davis with 102 and Cody Adams with 80.
For Mona City Council races (two seats available), Alicia reported vote totals that placed Devin Jack Ingram (246), Tony Openshaw (207), Troy Gordon Linton (198) and Jennifer Donaldson (195) on the list to move on to the general election. The council passed a resolution (2025‑21) to accept the canvass by voice vote, with three members recorded as voting in favor.
Alicia told the council that city staff had operated camera systems and followed established procedures, and she said some ballots were excluded for reasons such as signature mismatch or late postmarking. The council signed the certification paperwork for the county once it accepted the resolution.
