Mona council approves short-term rental license with fire-inspection contingency

Mona — The Mona City Council granted a business license to Linton's Landings LLC on Aug. 26 for a short-term rental unit in a basement apartment at 300 North, subject to a required fire inspection.
City staff told the council the property lies in a combined-use zone near I‑15 and noted the applicant will be required to collect transient room tax and obtain a fire inspection before the license is finalized. Staff also reminded the council that owners may not place exterior signs advertising the rental and that parking must be provided off the street — in a garage, carport or driveway.
A council member moved to approve the license with the contingency that the fire inspection be filed; another council member seconded the motion. The council approved the motion by voice vote, with three members recorded voting in favor.
Staff asked the applicant to submit the fire-inspection certificate with the application so the city could keep it on file and indicated a fire-inspection visit was expected before final issuance of the license.
