Associate Superintendent Bob Presby introduced the item and said staff recommended approval so negotiation teams could proceed; the motion carried 7‑0.
The board also approved a declaration of need for fully qualified educators (item 11B) and adopted an adjustment to trustee remuneration (item 11C). Superintendent Chris Brown explained that under Board Policy 9,250 and Education Code 35,120 the annual review caps adjustments at 5 percent and that the calculated increase for this cycle is 0.32 percent, raising the monthly stipend from $852 to $855 with an estimated annual impact of $284; trustees approved the item 7‑0.
