County Executive staff briefed Cuyahoga County Council on Jan. 14 that fundraising for a child wellness center has raised about $13 million of a $14 million goal, and outlined progress on central services campus design, housing funds and a planned new board-of-elections site.

Introductions included ARPA community grant awards for nonprofits and municipalities, appointments to advisory boards and the board of developmental disabilities, and transportation-project authorizations. The clerk read several items and council members added sponsorships where requested.
Among the larger items introduced was a proposed amendment to the county's contract with MetroHealth for correctional health services. The introduced resolution would extend the term and add $17,250,000 in funding for a total not-to-exceed $128,165,111; the item was referred to the Public Safety and Justice Affairs Committee. Another notable item was an authorization to make an economic development loan not to exceed $1,500,000 tied to redevelopment of the Taylor Tudor Plaza in Cleveland Heights (referred to the Economic Development & Planning Committee).
Council also approved the meeting minutes by voice vote and heard committee scheduling and miscellaneous business before adjourning at 6:18 p.m.
