Fayetteville mayor announces new council work-session schedule and public forum procedures

"I wanna let you know about a few changes to our work session format," Mayor Mitch Colvin said, identifying the adjustments residents can expect at future meetings. He said regular work sessions, held on the first Monday of each month, will now begin at 3:00 p.m., instead of 2:00 p.m.
Colvin also said that starting at 6:15 p.m. meetings will include announcements and recognitions followed by a public forum for citizens to speak. "If you would like to speak or provide written comments for the public forum, you will need to sign up no later than 5PM on that day," he said, establishing a same-day sign-up deadline for participation.
All council meetings will continue to be accessible to residents via television and online: Colvin said they are broadcast live on Spectrum channel 7 and stream at feytv.net.
City officials framed the changes as procedural adjustments to meeting timing and participation logistics; no vote or ordinance was recorded in the announcement. Colvin closed by encouraging residents to stay engaged and informed with city government.
