Council approves $128,190 change order for EOC construction administration

Temple Terrace City Council approved a change order with Applied Sciences Consulting Inc. for additional construction‑administration services for the city’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in an amount not to exceed $128,190.
Assistant Fire Chief Shane Salmon told the council the services are necessary to support ongoing construction activities and to ensure oversight and coordination through project completion. He said funding for the additional services will come from community investment tax fund reserves.
City staff and council members explained the original procurement approach differed from prior design‑build projects; Applied Sciences completed initial design and engineering work but construction administration was not included in the later phase. City Manager Bay and Chief Salmon said the change order will provide the construction oversight needed to ensure the project meets specifications.
Council moved, seconded and adopted the resolution; the vote was unanimous with no nays recorded.
