Finance staff proposed transferring $844,000 from the county's facilities reserve to cover the project, including contingency, leaving the reserve with about $3.1 million. Supervisors questioned whether elevator work should be planned in the capital improvements program and whether future elevators were anticipated in long-range facilities budgets; staff said they are creating a countywide plan after the immediate project.
The contract award and budget transfer were presented on the consent agenda for the board's regular meeting; staff said the funding source will be vacancy savings and the county's facilities reserve.
