Radcliff council honors residents, recognizes firefighter heroism and unveils new city logo

At its Feb. 17 meeting, the Radcliff City Council used its recognition time to honor local residents and first responders and to highlight community developments.

Proclamation for the Williams: The council read a proclamation recognizing Howard and Mary Williams, who will mark their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 18, 2026, noting Howard's military service and Mary's federal employment and the couple's volunteer work in Hardin County.

Fire-department recognition: Chief Marsh recounted a Dec. 14, 2025 house fire in which Lieutenant Sean O'Donnell arrived within a minute, entered the burning house without protective gear, and removed the homeowner to the front stoop; the homeowner died two weeks later. Chief Marsh presented the department's Medal of Honor to Lieutenant O'Donnell "for his actions on 12/14/2025," praising his conspicuous heroism while noting the department does not recommend the general public enter burning structures.

Community announcements and logo reveal: The mayor and council announced that a local Boys & Girls Club opened recently and reached initial capacity. The mayor also showcased a new city logo developed with staff (Miss Russo, Ashley and Chance) and Lincoln Trail area development; council members commented on layout and minor tweaks to font and background.
