Ortega said 36 classified employees and 25 administrators participated, listed departments represented (bus drivers, mechanics, paraeducators, IT, custodial, pest control, maintenance trades, clerical, food service and payroll), and thanked food‑service staff who catered the reception.
Nicholas Dibbs followed, commending classified employees and urging the district to survey graduating seniors before or shortly after graduation to gather ideas for improving the district. Dibbs also asked the board to allow remote participation for those who cannot attend in person — including people with disabilities — to broaden civic engagement. He urged restoring hands‑on wood‑shop, metal‑shop and welding classes at intermediate schools as CTE demand rises.
Board Chair and trustees acknowledged the comments; no formal action followed during the meeting.
