The Brea Olinda Unified School District board adopted its 2024–25 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and approved the accompanying local indicator report during Monday’s meeting.
Dr. Phil presented the local indicator report, which the district uses with the LCAP and other state instruments. He reported 93.9% of teachers hold clear credentials, zero students without access to aligned instructional materials, and 104 instances where facilities did not meet the state's good‑repair standard. The report identified strengths in curriculum implementation and college‑and‑career programming and called out areas for growth, notably English learner instruction, parent advisory engagement for underrepresented families, and supports for students with disabilities.
Trustees discussed plans to form a standing Special Education Advisory Committee in 2024–25, continuing analysis of the California Healthy Kids Survey and professional development alignment. Following the presentation, the board voted 4‑0 to adopt the LCAP and approve the local indicators and related budget overview for parents.
Next steps: district staff will administer community feedback meetings beginning in late 2024, analyze spring assessment data and return to the board with CAASPP results and further writing milestones for the 2025 LCAP cycle.
