Cuyahoga County committee approves five procurement and right‑of‑way measures, including Fitch Road sewer project and Rockside Road resurfacing

The Cuyahoga County Public Works Procurement and Contracting Committee on March 19 approved five procurement- and right‑of‑way resolutions that the committee’s presenters said will clear the way for construction and service agreements this year and next.

Eric Mack of the county Department of Public Works described the largest item as a $7,300,000 program for a new sewer extension (about 0.76 miles) and the reconstruction and rehabilitation of roughly 1.5 miles of Fitch Road in Olmsted Township. "This project this is authority to acquire a right away as part of a $7,300,000 project where we have funding for 45% from a grant and 28% from another grant from the sewer district," Mack said. The resolution (20250107) authorizes temporary access across 26 parcels; Mack said the total payment toward those temporary accesses is $20,000 (about $1,000 per parcel) and that checks will be issued before construction starts this summer. Construction is expected to begin this fall and finish in 2026; the committee approved the resolution by voice vote and granted suspension of second reading so staff can begin homeowner contact.
