Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport officials, Visit Phoenix and the Fiesta Sports Foundation activated a 226‑day countdown clock for the 2026 women’s Final Four and said they expect thousands of visitors and significant economic benefits for the Valley.
Roxanne Favors, the airport’s assistant aviation director and chief revenue officer, thanked volunteers and airport partners and said “we are proud that more than a 100 aviation department family and employees are volunteering to be part of and participate in tomorrow's Fiesta Bowl parade in Central Phoenix.” She added that Sky Harbor staff, concessionaires and airline partners are ready to welcome the teams and the thousands of visitors expected for the games.
Eric Moses, executive director and CEO of the Fiesta Sports Foundation, said the bowl and surrounding events drive sizeable local spending, telling the crowd that “the economic impact that this game and the surrounding activities provide to the Valley is about $200,000,000,” and stressing the foundation’s community-giving programs. Moses also encouraged residents to buy tickets and praised the foundation’s volunteers and fundraising efforts.
Ron Price, president and CEO of Visit Phoenix, and organizers noted that Phoenix will host the women’s Final Four for the first time; they described a slate of free, family-friendly activations across downtown Phoenix during the holiday weekend and said extra events aim to showcase the city to national and international visitors.
Organizers said the airport activation—including a large trophy display and volunteer-staffed engagement—was intended to welcome arriving fans, support local hospitality partners and highlight community fundraising tied to the Fiesta Sports Foundation. The airport and event partners said they will continue promotions and community activations in the lead-up to the games.
