Resident tells Lowell City roads remain impassable two weeks after snowstorm, asks about pilots and enforcement

An unidentified resident told Lowell City during public comment that neighborhood streets remained difficult to pass two weeks after a recent snowstorm and urged the city to act on parking and street-maintenance pilots.

"My issue is going around and driving through the neighborhood after the snowstorm," the resident said, adding that "the roads that are a mess still today, 2 weeks later that you can't get down." The speaker said properties with clear driveways allowed plows easier access to streets.

The commenter said parked cars made the cleanup difficult rather than selective city attention to particular neighborhoods. "So the cars have to come off the road," the speaker said, arguing that crews were hampered where vehicles remained on the street.

"You have down that they'll try a pilot for the parking in the parks. I hope that happens," they said. "I know there was supposed to be a pilot for street sweeping. We haven't seen that happen. So I'm hoping there's some timeline for this pilot, that is just not floating out there."
