Alan Bailey, senior manager for the district's independent auditing firm, presented the 2024–25 audit results and said the auditors issued unmodified (clean) opinions on the district's financial statements, the federal Child Nutrition program and state compliance.
"Unmodified opinion is the highest opinion as a school district can get," Alan said, explaining that the opinion means the financial statements are free from material misstatements. He added auditors found no internal control deficiencies related to the financial statements or the audited federal program.
Board members praised the district's fiscal team. Trustee Schneer asked whether the district had special requirements around data security; Bailey said the district audits follow GASB standards, not the FASB requirements that apply to some nonprofit audits. Trustee comments thanked Tim Golden and the fiscal services team for timely document production.
The board voted to accept the audit by roll call/voice vote; the chair announced the motion passed 5–0.
Background: The federal single audit tested the Child Nutrition Program in the 2024–25 fiscal year; auditors reported no compliance issues for the program in the audited cycle. The board did not receive any findings requiring corrective action.
