MetroHealth introduces government‑relations team to county committee

Shalena "Shelly" Williams, MetroHealth’s manager for government relations and public affairs, and Ramona Brazil, MetroHealth’s executive director of external affairs and community engagement, introduced themselves to the Cuyahoga County Healthy Human Services & Aging Committee on Jan. 22 and offered to serve as liaisons between the hospital system and the county.
Williams said one role of her office is to ensure MetroHealth has "a seat at the decision‑making table" and to strengthen the health system’s presence and partnerships across Cuyahoga County. Brazil, a registered nurse who spent nearly 20 years with the county board of health, said she approaches the work from a public‑health perspective and emphasized proactive communication and connecting residents and officials to appropriate internal MetroHealth resources.
Both representatives said they want regular engagement with committee members and invited councilmembers to share priorities and concerns. Chairwoman Conwell and members thanked them and noted MetroHealth’s role in local health partnerships; no formal action followed the introductions.
