The Mecklenburg County Planning Commission opened its meeting with officer elections, administrative approvals and a brief financial update.
Nominations were made and approved by voice votes: Mark Warren was nominated and approved for chairman; Arrington (referred to as Reggie/Arrington in the record) was nominated and approved for vice chairman; Charles Raimi was nominated and approved for secretary.
Later in the meeting the commission approved the minutes for January in a motion that passed with two members noted as opposed (the clerk read Mister Ramey and Mister Crocker as the dissenting members). The commission also received a financial update for January: the transcript lists receipts of $8,180 (compared with about $11,000 the year prior) and additional building-code figures read into the record.
Staff announced agenda items for the March meeting including a special-exemption review for a 'second home,' presentation of a new zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations and updated GIS mapping. The meeting adjourned after a motion to close the session.
