District staff told the board that the home stadium lacks an elevated coaches box or skybox required by the Sunset League/CIF for certain events, so the team sometimes uses a scissor lift for coaching positions when hosting smaller nonleague games. "Our home stadium doesn't actually meet our league CIF requirements to host football games," staff said, and when large rivalry games require larger venues the district must find alternatives.
Officials also explained the cost trade-offs of different sites. "There is a dramatic increase in expense when we host at home. The price is double that of renting," staff said, citing added costs for bleachers, restrooms, lighting, additional security and campus sectioning. The district said it will pursue scheduling strategies such as back-to-back home games to reduce setup costs.
Board member Bragman said the intent is not to play all games on the road but to be flexible: the district "might have games at home" or at partner sites depending on league assignments. The board moved to approve the facilities-use authorization and the motion carried 5 0.
