Wilson said the finalists were all strong candidates and described the selection as difficult. “The applicants were outstanding, and it was difficult for us, the two commissioners, to make the decision,” she said, adding that the final choice was “Travis Griffin.”
Griffin, who the personnel commission and district described as a Los Alamitos High School graduate and a parent in the district, thanked the board and commission. “I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and I’m really, really looking forward to helping the school district,” he said, and offered to be available to staff for HR questions or assistance.
Board members welcomed Griffin and praised Wilson’s long service to the community. The presiding officer said, “Welcome, Travis. Your words were really heartfelt, and we’re excited,” and thanked Wilson for her work on the recruitment.
