Anaheim Elementary board ratifies settlement, personnel actions and job-class changes; votes recorded 4-0

The Anaheim Elementary School District Board of Education on Nov. 13 reported multiple personnel decisions and approved administrative changes following closed-session review and open-session motions.

In closed session the board said it would enter an underpayment agreement to pay a certificated employee $8,064.96 to resolve a wage claim; the board recorded the motion as made by Trustee Magalhaes, seconded by Trustee Mark Lopez and approved 4-0. The board also reported a separate closed-session vote (4-0) to suspend a classified employee for one day without pay.

During the public meeting trustees approved several personnel and administrative items in roll-call motions recorded on the public record. The board accepted first readings for policy and schedule items, then approved a revised job description and salary reclassification for the transportation services coordinator (moving the position from range 1 to range 9 on the classified management salary schedule effective Nov. 14, 2024). That motion passed 4-0.

The board ratified the appointment of employee number 11132024-03 to serve as vice principal at Ponderosa School with an effective date listed in the agenda materials; the motion carried 4-0. District communications noted the appointee has worked with the district for six years and has served as a kindergarten teacher, first-grade DLI teacher and instructional TOSA.

All recorded votes reported in the meeting transcript were unanimous (four in favor, zero opposed). The board did not discuss public comment on these personnel items during the open session.

The board indicated remaining administrative items (calendar and policy drafts) will return for final approvals at the December organizational meeting or subsequent board agenda items as noted by staff.
