The Ohio House Insurance Committee on Feb. 20 accepted Amendment 0912 to House Bill 220, removing a requirement that the name of the clinical peer who evaluates a prior‑authorization appeal be disclosed to the appellant.
Vice Chair Craig moved the amendment and explained it “removes the requirement that the name of the clinical peer evaluating a prior authorization appeal be provided to the appellant.” Committee members had no questions, and Chair Lambton stated the amendment was distributed and available. "Hearing no objection, the amendment is accepted," the chair said.
The committee approved the minutes and proceeded as a full committee earlier in the session. With the amendment accepted, Chair Lambton said, "This concludes the second hearing on House Bill 220." No formal roll‑call vote on the amendment was recorded in the hearing transcript; the change was adopted by unanimous consent.
Next steps for House Bill 220 were not specified during the session.
