Representatives from Simsbury Community Media (SCM) made a brief announcement at the end of the Feb. 17 meeting asking for public support. SCM representatives said subscription-based revenue has declined as viewers shift to internet-only options and asked residents to contribute online or by QR code to keep community programming, civic meeting coverage and educational work running.
"We need your support," a speaker for SCM said, repeating the request several times and noting that the organization preserves local history and broadcasts school and government events. SCM asked listeners to visit the organization’s website or scan a provided QR code to donate.
This was presented as an informational announcement rather than an agenda item; commissioners did not take action on SCM’s appeal during the meeting.
