The Washington State Senate unanimously adopted Senate Resolution 8,683 congratulating the Seattle Seahawks for their 2025 season and Super Bowl 60 victory, recognized team leaders and welcomed team representatives to the Senate rostrum.
The Washington State Senate adopted Senate Resolution 8,683 on the floor, congratulating the Seattle Seahawks for a 14–3 regular season, an NFC West title and their Super Bowl 60 victory on Feb. 8, 2026. Senator Torres moved adoption; the measure passed by voice vote after members rose to express support.
The secretary read the resolution, which chronicles the Seahawks’ 2025 campaign, playoff victories at Lumen Field and a 29–13 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium. The resolution names Kenneth Walker III as the game’s most valuable player and cites wide receiver Jackson Smith Njikba’s league-leading receiving season and other individual honors, and it commends the team’s community-service efforts.
“I’m proud to sponsor a resolution honoring the Seattle Seahawks for one of the most remarkable seasons in Washington state history,” Senator Torres said on the floor, noting the team’s record, championship run and work in local communities. Other senators echoed that sentiment during member remarks, praising coaching staff, players and the Seahawks’ role in bringing people together across the state.
After adoption, the president introduced former Seahawks wide receiver and play-by-play announcer Steve Bridal and team representatives Mike Flood (vice president of outreach and external affairs) and Drew Johnston (managing director of government affairs and compliance) to the rostrum; members paused for photographs. Bridal delivered a brief touchdown call for the chamber during the recognition.
The resolution directs the secretary of the Senate to transmit copies to the Seattle Seahawks organization as a formal expression of the Senate’s congratulations and appreciation.
