Newark council hears introductory remarks from Central Planning Board nominee Andre Spate

Council members offered bipartisan praise for Spate's community service and noted the planning board's increased workload under recent zoning changes. Councilman Ramos called the planning board "probably the busiest body that we have within the city now with the new zoning changes," and several colleagues expressed confidence in the nominee.
No formal vote was taken during the hearing; the council president said the official vote would occur at the next scheduled meeting. The introduction contained no additional materials on the nominee's background beyond his remarks and the mayor's nomination on the agenda.
