The Irvine Unified School District board approved the public disclosure and ratification of a tentative agreement with the California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 517 covering salary and health‑and‑welfare terms for 2024–25.
Under AB 1200, district staff publicly disclosed the fiscal effects of the tentative settlement before trustees voted. The agreement keeps the 2023–24 salary schedule in place for 2024–25 and provides a 2% off‑schedule one‑time payment for classified employees.
Staff said the settlement was ratified by CSEA membership at approximately a 95% approval rate. "We reached a tentative agreement with CSEA ... and it was ratified, voted on by the members, at 95% success rate," a staff presenter told the board.
Chief Business Officer John stated the district has funds set aside to cover the one‑time cost and both the superintendent and CBO certified the district can afford the agreement under statutory requirements.
The board approved the public disclosure and ratified the tentative agreement by roll‑call vote; staff indicated affected employees should receive the one‑time payment in the January pay cycle.
