Pasadena ISD spotlights district and campus improvement plans and approves 2026–27 academic calendar

Scott Harrell, Pasadena ISD’s executive director of school improvement, presented a district overview of the 2025–26 district and campus improvement plans at the board’s Jan. 20 meeting. Harrell framed the work as alignment to the district’s 2025–2030 strategic plan and superintendent goals, and described four overarching goals: strengthening instruction, expanding opportunity (including early learning and dual credit programs), improving student and staff well‑being and strengthening supporting systems.
Harrell noted district results under the Texas accountability system, saying, "In 2025, we earned a B rating with a score of 84," and reported that 42 campuses improved their performance, including 11 campuses with double‑digit gains and more than 100 distinctions across the district. He credited extensive stakeholder engagement — including the district education committee, campus leaders, teachers and families — in drafting the plans.
Following the presentation trustees approved campus and district improvement plans for 2025–26 and unanimously approved the 2026–27 academic calendar and designation of waiver days for professional development. Board members thanked staff and calendar committee members for their work and said Calendar A prevailed following committee consideration.
Trustees directed staff to implement the approved plans and monitor progress; no amendments to plan goals were made at the meeting.
