Cypress board approves special-education settlements, service contracts and internship agreement

The board moved and approved entering into a settlement agreement for special education case 2024050004 (agenda item 11.1). It also approved an amendment to a previously board-approved settlement for case 2024010164 (11.2). On program contracts, the board ratified nonpublic nonsectarian school agency service master contracts with Portview Preparatory Inc. (ECE for autism) and Small Talk OC for the 2024-25 period (07/01/2024 to 06/30/2025) (11.3). The board then approved an educational services individual services agreement report (ISJUL24/25) and ratified a master agreement with EverDriven Technologies LLC for specialized student transportation services for the same 12-month term (11.5).
The board also approved an agreement with the University of New England to provide applied nutrition program student interns from 08/08/2024 through 08/08/2027 at no cost to the district (11.6). Trustee Sande and other trustees commented in support of the districtpartnerships and the educational opportunities these arrangements provide.
Each motion was moved, seconded and adopted by voice vote; where the agenda item indicated a specific contract period or case number, that information was recorded in the agenda and confirmed during the motion. No roll-call tallies were read aloud in the transcript; board approval was recorded by unanimous "Aye" responses and the chair stated motions were adopted.
