The county remains under separate Johnson Controls coverage for courthouse boilers through a contract that runs into 2027; commissioners and staff discussed the overlap and confirmed Comfort Systems will not supersede Johnson Controls' contractual inspection responsibilities until that contract expires. Staff said signing Comfort Systems now secures a discount on labor and parts for any repairs performed under the new maintenance agreement.
Custodian John Smith, who works at the courthouse, asked whether the contracts will be uploaded to the county website; staff confirmed both contracts will be posted for public review and the county will provide copies.
