Beaufort County, the City of Beaufort and Friends of the Spanish Moss Trail held a ribbon cutting for a new downtown connection, and Beaufort County TV reporter Chloe G said student volunteers from DALO installed a Little Free Library at the trail.
Chloe described DALO (Diversity Awareness Youth Literacy Organization) as a high-school diversity-themed book club founded at "B for High" in 2021 that now has 11 chapters across the state. "Part of our mission is to promote community literacy among the younger students at Beaufort County," she said, explaining that DALO places Little Free Libraries in public places such as laundromats to increase access to books.
