The committee advanced an amendment to Chapter 33a (Complete Streets) that "clarifies the appeal period to 30 days, which aligns with Connecticut case law and, provides certainty, that people have process, have due process or opportunity to due process," Council member Jalen Seed said. The committee had no public speakers; Seed announced the amendment "passes unanimously."
The body also voted to send a proposed amendment to Chapter 29 (§29‑6) on cannabis enforcement fines and citations to the full council for consideration. Seed described the change as strengthening clarity around enforcement, reporting and transparency. The chair later noted the vote was not unanimous; a roll‑call tally was not read into the record.
A third public‑hearing item — an amendment to Chapter 112a (§112a‑13) on vape‑shop penalties — was similarly opened for public comment (none) and sent to the full council.
Procedural items included acceptance of the Jan. 20 meeting minutes with no corrections.
