Committee recommends contract modifications: $266,406.49 for concrete repairs and an exhibit update to United Way allocation
Summary
The finance committee recommended a $266,406.49 modification for Simon Contractors to fix concrete failures on a public-works project and recommended approval of an exhibit revision to an existing $250,000 contract with United Way that reallocates funding among nonprofit partners without increasing the total city contribution.

The City of Cheyenne finance committee on Feb. 18 recommended two contract modifications:
Adele Bartel, public-works staff engineer, requested contract modification no. 3 to contract 7977 with Simon Contractors for $266,406.49 to address additional concrete repairs after several areas began to fail over three years of work; Bartel said some sidewalk slabs and other sections are cracking and may pose hazards.
Separately, staff presented a modification to contract 7821 with United Way of Laramie County that replaces an exhibit to revise allocations among community nonprofit partners while maintaining the overall contract amount at $250,000; staff said there is no change to the city’s total funding.
Both modifications were moved, seconded and forwarded by the committee as recommendations to the governing body for final approval.
