IT staff reports cybersecurity audits, Juvenile Detention Center and 9-1-1 center work under way

At the Courthouse and Property Committee meeting, the county’s IT representative (Speaker 3) reported ongoing cybersecurity audits and progress on several county infrastructure projects.
"We have a few cybersecurity audits that we're undergoing right now. One's an independent audit," Speaker 3 said, adding the reviews cover "everything from internal processes and controls all the way to our public domain space." The IT representative said staff are completing required items and will send final materials to auditors.
Speaker 3 outlined multiple facility projects that include structured cabling and security electronics for the Juvenile Detention Center and the new 9-1-1 center. He said installations are being coordinated with vendors to ensure correct data infrastructure and access controls are in place, including proximity card readers and camera systems "that can detect movement." He also noted work at a county surplus building that will house some equipment.
The IT representative said the county is continually updating older facilities to newer technologies and making livestream improvements for public access to meeting presentations.
No formal action was taken on the IT report. Speaker 3 invited questions and offered to follow up with committee members as needed. The committee later approved the enclosed reports by motion.
