Commissioners approve STIF advisory renewals and a 10-year fairgrounds use agreement

At the start of its Feb. 18 session, the Crook County Board of Commissioners approved several advisory-committee renewals and a long-term use agreement for the county fairgrounds.
Staff and a remote STIF representative explained the Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund advisory committee’s role and requested reappointment of several committee members whose terms had expired. The board moved and approved renewals and a new appointment for the STIF advisory committee.
Separately, Casey Bailey, a Fair Board representative, presented a proposed 10-year use agreement between the county and the Crooked River Roundup Board that specifies dates and operational details for future roundups and rodeo events. Commissioners voiced appreciation for the work of the Fair Board and approved the use agreement by voice vote.
Both actions were approved during the open meeting; recorded "ayes" were read for the votes on the STIF renewals and the fairgrounds agreement and staff will note the approvals in county records.
