Board asks organizers to present formal request for 'Lens of Magna' support

Board members asked for more detail about the contest’s direct benefits to Magna’s Main Street and suggested the organizer submit a formal funding request through the CRA or the city’s established funding process. One board member said the CRA funds are limited and that a request should follow the same process as other applicants; another said the organizers should present directly to the CRA since the funding would come from CRA-controlled funds.
Staff agreed to contact the organizer (Rachel Saben) and schedule a formal presentation at a future meeting (October or November) so the board can evaluate a specific funding request.
