MU Extension staff present annual report to Cole County commissioners

MU Extension staff delivered an annual report to the Cole County Commission on Feb. 17, summarizing the county’s Extension activities in 2025 and plans for 2026.
Elizabeth (Liz), an MU Extension staffer, told commissioners the report highlights 4‑H events (including a 4‑H Day at the Capitol), regional STEM grants through Missouri S&T that provided laptops and robotics kits, partnerships with the National Guard’s Child and Youth Program to distribute healthy‑living boxes to children in Guard families, and county services in agronomy, horticulture, livestock, nutrition and early‑childhood supports.
She said Extension staffing has strengthened and that many specialists who serve multiple counties continue to support Cole County residents. “We’re always looking for new ways to partner and more people to reach,” Elizabeth said. Commissioners thanked Extension staff and several encouraged outreach to additional local partners.
Next steps: Extension staff asked for commissioner feedback on program priorities to inform the plan of work for 2026 and will continue to provide annual reporting to the commission.
