The Franklin City Council approved two budgetary ordinances during its meeting on Feb. 18, 2026, following brief public hearings at which no members of the public spoke.
Budgetary ordinance 26-01, described by the mayor as an additional appropriation for non–tax-supported funds (listed in the agenda with Clerk/Treasurer Jan Jones), was introduced at the council's previous meeting and advanced for action. After the mayor opened and closed the public hearing, a councilmember moved to approve the ordinance and the motion carried by voice vote; the record notes one councilmember named Sean voted in favor.
The council then considered budgetary ordinance 26-02, an appropriation into Board of Works accounts including employee insurance, capital and services, rainy day services, and cemetery capital. The mayor said the ordinance had been explained at the prior meeting; with no public comment, the council voted by voice to adopt 26-02.
Both actions were taken by motion and voice vote with no roll-call tallies recorded in the meeting record. No public testimony was offered on either ordinance.
The measures will be reflected in the city’s published appropriation records and take effect according to the city’s normal budgetary procedures.
