Commission sets 2026 voting locations, establishes early-voting site and polling hours

The county’s finance and tax director brought several election-administration items for board approval. The board accepted a $25 check from the city of Inkster to waive certain specials on a tax-sale parcel and approved a series of election logistics motions.
The commission unanimously established the voting places listed in the packet for the 2026 elections and approved a motion to set an early-voting precinct at the Alaris Center for June 2–6. The board also established an absentee ballot precinct (procedural verification of absentee ballots is done without tabulating results) and set polling hours for all election-day sites in Grand Forks County from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A commissioner asked whether absentee processing involves reading totals before the election; staff clarified that absentee ballots are run through the machinery for signature verification but results are not read until election day.
