Moore — At its Feb. 17 meeting the Moore City Council approved a package of routine standards, contracts and solicitations intended to standardize signage, improve park safety and move forward planned maintenance and technology upgrades.
Key approvals included: - Street sign standards (Item 4): Council adopted updated 2026 sign standards to standardize font and size for public signs and to set a distinct look for private‑road signs (black background, white lettering and grayscale seal) and to allow illuminated arterial signs. Staff framed the change as a public‑safety and legibility improvement.
- Landscaping abatement services (Item 5): After two rounds of inspections beginning Oct. 2024, staff reported 148 properties initially out of compliance and 64 remaining in violation; council approved awarding contracts to four vendors (Tusenua Lawn and Landscape LLC; Extreme Tree Service and Removal LLC; F and M Native Environment of Oklahoma LLC; Green Shade Tree, LLC) as most responsive.
- Surplus auction (Item 7): Council authorized surplus of items (estimated total $11,685) and directed staff to send them to auction via an existing contract (Swarswell #102821‑TPG).
- Parks mowing solicitation (Item 8): Council authorized staff to solicit bids for mowing and lawn maintenance for designated parks, with a biweekly base schedule (14 services from Apr. 20–Oct. 24, 2026) and provisions for more frequent mowing during rainy periods.
