He said the project encountered procurement and legal hurdles, required staff to work through Thanksgiving and Christmas, and involved compressing a 120'day process into roughly 45 days to meet an implementation target. Wong said the team's work reduced the need to manually enter reports into a database and ensured the department met the Jan. 1, 2026 deadline for the national mandate.
Wong described the medal as recognition for exceptional initiative and leadership that supports daily operations and patient care. He asked the audience to join him in congratulating the recipients and acknowledged that the project was imperfect but necessary to achieve compliance.
