The Annapolis Finance Committee voted to give a favorable recommendation to SA 15-26 after the fire chief said the city received a modest unbudgeted grant increase.
Doug O'Malley, fire chief, said during the committee meeting that "during the budget process...we calculated a grant that was coming in. We actually received and I don't have it in front of me, but it's like 500 or $700 more." The chief told the committee staff need approval to add that amount into the budget.
Committee members moved and seconded a recommendation to send the item to the full City Council; the committee approved the recommendation by voice vote.
The committee did not discuss a detailed expenditure plan for the additional funds during the meeting. The fiscal impact amount referenced during discussion was $734.60. The council will receive the committee's recommendation and any final fiscal documents from staff.
