During project updates staff reported a final invoice for a recent sidewalk job of $42,858. Staff said $10,000 of that total will be paid from carryover funds from an earlier grant; the balance will be covered from city funds. Staff also described ongoing grant outreach for the PRV (pressure‑reducing valve) program and said they are tracking federal and state funding sources, many of which referenced loan options and interest rates.
Public works staff reported that a contractor struck a sewer service on Soda Creek, which revealed the mainline. The main was described in the meeting as Orangeburg pipe with an approximately 2‑inch hole; staff estimated the repair would cover roughly 550 feet and said they expect to complete the work in‑house next summer, including installation of a needed manhole where none exists.
In citizen input Justin Hansen thanked council members and city crews for their work on local projects including the new hockey rink and holiday lights.
