Board members welcomed the idea as a limited test but emphasized ensuring pedestrian clearance and ongoing upkeep so the planters do not become eyesores. Members asked whether planters would be removed or altered seasonally; the group suggested winter alternatives such as small artificial trees if needed. The board approved the one‑year pilot on a trial basis and asked staff to monitor impacts.
