Library staff said they would verify donations and volunteer service with the animal shelter before waiving fees and would promote the events through Facebook and flyers. The library asked for council feedback and indicated it will return with a resolution at the next meeting.
Council members praised the idea during the meeting and encouraged the program as a way to reduce barriers to library access while supporting a local nonprofit.
