APC hears update: New Carlisle drafting unified development ordinance, may present in March

Sean Klein, director of the Area Plan Commission, told the commission Feb. 17 that the Town of New Carlisle is drafting a unified development ordinance to consolidate its zoning and subdivision ordinances into a single document (the town’s last updates were in 2010). Klein said the town could present a draft to the commission as early as March and will likely seek the commission’s recommendation in April.
Klein framed the update as informational; no formal action or public hearing on the New Carlisle ordinance occurred at the meeting. The commission did not take a vote on the matter and no additional materials were provided at the time of the update.
