Vessels Elementary students present oratorical winners at board meeting

Vessels Elementary School brought student winners from its oratorical contest to the April 11 board meeting. Chloe Kim, a second-grader, gave a memorized speech urging peers not to bully and to show kindness. Noah Grove, a fourth-grader, presented a historical overview of Nintendo and received board applause.
Principal Holman introduced the students and thanked teachers Kyla Sales and Jeannie Kim for organizing the contest. Board members praised the students' preparation and the teachers' extra work during lunchtime practice. Certificates were presented to the students and participating Girl Scout troops before the board took a brief recess.
The district's Association of Cypress Teachers later highlighted additional Vessels activities, including an upcoming Finding Nemo kids performance in late May and TK classroom projects.
