At the Feb. 18 Beaver County work session a resident identified as Becky Gaffer asked the board to support holding the Maple Circle Festival at Big Knob Bridal after the festival’s previously planned site was unavailable.
Becky Gaffer said she remained disappointed the event would not be at British Run and requested the board’s support for the alternate location. Board members and staff said they had learned that the Grange was willing to host the festival and that they would convene the Grange and other stakeholders to sort out dates and equipment logistics. One speaker noted that several groups (the conservation district and others) own equipment often used for such events and that the county needed to confirm who would provide the resources.
Speakers said the county would attempt to align stakeholders, and that a radio broadcast of the State of the County event would be available for those who could not attend. The board moved to executive session at the end of the meeting; no formal action on the festival location was recorded during the work session.
