The New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission on Sept. 4 voted to approve a large set of licensing actions, adopt rules expanding allowable edible cannabis product forms and impose monetary penalties in multiple enforcement cases.
The commission approved 32 conditional adult‑use licenses, 20 conditional‑to‑annual conversions, 19 annual licenses, 28 renewals and one expanded alternative treatment‑center certification for Niche LLC. Executive Director Riggs told commissioners the agency has received 2,689 applications and approved “a little over 2,000” of them; he also reported there are 72,336 registered medical cannabis patients and roughly 1,500 registered doctors in the program.
